Yes, with a quick-change arrangement or a grab that can be replaced by a hook block. In practice most yards pick one duty and stay with it, because the duty class and the structure follow the grab. Tell us both uses and we will quote the configuration that covers them without compromising either.
On a gantry project the civil work is a significant part of the total — sometimes comparable to the crane itself on soft ground or long tracks. We give you the wheel loads, rail section, gauge and level tolerances so your contractor can price it properly, and we will review your site plan with you to keep the track length sensible.
The crane is anchored with rail clamps when parked, and on exposed sites we add an anemometer with an automatic stop so operation ceases above the agreed wind speed. At 30 m span an unloaded gantry crane presents a large surface to the wind, which is why wind load is a design input rather than an afterthought.
