European Double Girder Gantry Crane
When the loads are heavy and the work is outside, the two girders of a European gantry carry a compact trolley high and close to the bridge, giving you more hook height above the yard and less dead weight on the rails. Compared with a conventional MG/MH gantry of the same capacity, that means smaller foundations, faster travel with VFD control, and a machine that is easier to erect and to move when the yard is reorganised.

Where this machine is used
Precast concrete yards. Lifting formwork, reinforcement cages and finished elements between the casting beds and the storage area, often with two hooks working together on one long element.
Steel and plate stockyards. Plate and beam handling with magnets or C-hooks, where the yard layout changes more often than a building would.
Heavy fabrication and shipyard areas. Long, heavy and awkward loads lifted outdoors, with load cells where the load has to be proved and tandem lifting where one crane is not enough.
Container and cargo yards. Handling containers, timber and heavy palletised cargo, with spreaders or C-hooks rather than a hook.
Heavy-duty structure, compact trolley
Two welded box girders are tied into a portal by end carriages, and the legs run on rails laid on ground beams or sleepers. The compact trolley sits low between the girders so the hook reaches higher above the yard than on a conventional gantry, and the bridge is lighter for the same capacity — which is what lets us reduce the rail and foundation loads you have to build.
Every motion is on VFD: stepless speeds, no swing on start, and controlled stopping when you are setting a 40 t precast element onto bearings or a stack. For grab duty in aggregate or waste yards we specify a higher duty class, dual brakes and protection for the trolley, and we will say plainly when the duty is too heavy for a standard machine.
Specified for wind, water and corrosion
Wind: rail clamps as standard, anemometer with wind-speed interlock on exposed sites, and the design wind pressure stated in the offer for your region and your height above ground. Dust and water: IP55 motors and panels, sealed bearings, drainage and rain covers. Corrosion: hot-dip galvanizing or a multi-coat epoxy system with a stated dry film thickness for coastal and humid yards. Foundations: your civil contractor builds them, with the wheel loads, rail section and alignment tolerances we supply in writing.
Options worth adding outdoors: conductor busbar or cable reel for the power feed, a wind-speed display in the operator's cabin, floodlighting on the legs for night shifts, and load cells with a display where the load must be documented.
Testing and documents before dispatch
We are a supplier, not the factory: your crane is built by one of our long-term partner factories in Changyuan, and we tell you which one. The inspection step exists because of that.

- Rated-load and overload test on the factory track, with the reading recorded
- Brakes, limiters and the wind interlock demonstrated and photographed
- Container loading plan for the girder sections and legs, with the site bolting or welding method stated
- Documents: packing list, product certificate, test report, O&M manual, assembly and erection drawings

European Double Girder Gantry Crane: questions we are asked
How is this different from your MG/MH gantry crane?
The MG/MH is the conventional Chinese gantry: robust, quick to build, easy to repair locally, and cheaper. The European version is lighter for the same capacity and span, with a compact trolley, more hook height and VFD control as standard. The difference shows up in the civil works — smaller rail and foundation — and in running cost if the crane works hard. Tell us the duty and the yard details and we will quote both honestly.
What do you need from me to quote?
Capacity and span (or the yard drawing), lifting height from ground to hook, what is being lifted and with what attachment, how many hours a day the crane runs, the power supply available on site, and whether the ground is firm or filled. From those we can give you a budget with the wheel loads and rail data your civil contractor needs at the same time.
Can it be used with a grab or a magnet?
Yes, and for aggregate, waste and scrap yards it usually is. Grab duty is heavier than hook duty — more weight in the attachment, more cycles, more dust and impact — so we specify a higher duty class, dual brakes, reinforced trolley protection and wearing parts that can be replaced. Send the material and the throughput (tonnes per hour) and we will size it rather than guess.
How long is the erection, and who does it?
A medium gantry is typically assembled in one to three weeks with a mobile crane and a competent local crew; we supply assembly and erection drawings, the bolting or welding method and the lifting points. On the first machine in a new country we recommend a supervisor on site for the erection and the first load test, and we quote that separately so you can see what it costs.
What is the delivery time?
Typically 40–60 days from approved drawing to ready for shipment for this class of machine, plus shipping. Special duty classes, unusually long spans and grab or magnet configurations take longer and we state the dates in the offer. We also design the transport split early — which sections travel whole and which are welded on site — because that decision protects the schedule later.
